In order to truly be yourself, the best self that you can be, the most freed and focused and appreciative self, we must start from the beginning. Each day should be lived with a common theme, uniting every aspect of your life and bringing it into a gorgeous, harmonious theme. We must dedicate ourselves to taking care of our mind, body, and spirit before we can add anything else.
What can we do to improve our mind? I can't understand the massive amounts of people who do not appreciate written word. Challenge yourself to read a book and see how much you learn. I dare you to try and improve your vocabulary. Explore different possibilities, do research before taking sides on political and ethical issues. Keep a little journal with you at all times, write down things you want to remember, record good conversations you have with friends. Keep good relationships with people who make you happy. Cut out the negative aspects in your life, and I promise, you will start to make more and more decisions for yourself, with no one pressuring you to do otherwise.
We must take care of our bodies from the inside out. We have been blessed with a beautiful and abundant Earth, we must not forget that it was here first and needs to be treated with respect. Keep your diet healthy, don't indulge in fatty meats and quick junk food fixes. When you eat things that are good for your body, you can feel it. Stay in shape, get out of the house and go for a brisk walk at the very least. Take some time to examine your surroundings, and appreciate nature's beauty. When we are consciously aware of the beauty in this world, you become more appreciative for every aspect of your life.
Your spirit is the gateway to your soul, it's where one finds their innermost being. The most innocent, free, and bountiful love is stored in your soul. What can you do to make your spirit shine through the physical blockade? Take time for yourself to contemplate life. Don't get stuck in the past or on things you cannot change, but rather, think about where you are right now, and what you can do to continue your pursuit of inner happiness. Try out meditation, go to a church service, pray even. Find what makes your spirit thrive.
