Tiny Vessel

I am not setting out for what I wanted to accomplish in keeping a blog. I wanted to have a place where I can write down my everyday thoughts, to take a little bit of time off from the monotony of life, and look at the bigger picture. As a reminder that we do not need to stay fixated on the little things, but rather, take a step back and enjoy life for how it really is. It's disappointing that we get so consumed by, well life. It is almost as though time has flown by, and we forgot to breathe. But we must remember how important it is to breathe. Breathing is life, it has the been the very backbone of our existence since Earth's creation. If we don't take a moment to breathe, what kind of life are we really living?

My mind is always twisting around a variety of ideas, formulating a new idea or pondering a question about why things are the way they are. It's this curiosity and thought-provoking nature that inspires my writing. I'd like to thank Hannah for being so dedicated in her blog, she inspired me to update mine more often. And then, I stumbled upon this excerpt that really got me started thinking:

"Your soul is more magnificent, beautiful, and gigantic than you can possibly imagine. A human mind can only contain a tiny fraction of what you are. It’s like sticking your finger in a glass of water to see if it’s hot or cold. You put a tiny part of yourself into the vessel, and when you bring it back out, you’ve gained all the experiences it had."

Though this may come off as a bit extreme , I think the idea the author is trying to get across is a valuable one to hear.

I do not believe we can even start to understand how we were made, and what exists beyond our physical being. Who is to know if this is really all of it, if this is even our first time on Earth, where we go when we're gone, and what lives on in spirit after us. Throughout the generations, there is something that has been proven true, time and time again. At the core of each individual, each one is mysteriously joined. This is how humanity exists. Somehow, human beings all possess a unifying disposition that connects us. Every one of us has the capacity to love unswervingly, the desire to find our counterparts, the drive to do well in the world, be successful, and ultimately, to contribute something bigger than ourselves. No matter what religion you practice, culture you were born into, or beliefs you follow, every action occurs because we, as human beings have the ability to act as our own individual self. And each of these selves have the same fused sense of being, and suddenly, we are more alike than we thought. Humanity must encourage one another to be better, to live more fruitful lives. We are all connected, and when one falters, we all feel the ripple effect.

May we go on to this week with a clear mind, positive thoughts, and a desire for tomorrow.
